About Us & Editorial Mission
Agamani Parikrama – Kolkata Durga Pujo Cultural & Transit Companion
1. The Agamani Parikrama Initiative
During autumn in Bengal, Kolkata becomes the world's most vibrant public festival. UNESCO officially inscribed Kolkata Durga Puja on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2021. However, navigating thousands of pandals across congested historic neighborhoods presents major logistics challenges.
Agamani Parikrama was developed by local Kolkata cultural researchers, transit enthusiasts, and software engineers to curate:
- 100+ Verified Pandals: Complete with neighborhood guides across North, South, Central, East, and West Kolkata.
- Historic Bonedi Bari Archives: Documenting the ancient household pujas of Sovabazar Rajbari (1757), Sabarna Roy Choudhury (1610), Hatkhola Dutta Bari, and Laha Bari.
- Multimodal Metro Transit Guide: Including all-night Blue Line trains and the historic underwater Green Line crossing the Hooghly river between Howrah and Kolkata.
- Kolkata Police Traffic & Parking Advisories: Designated GPS parking locations and pedestrian barricade schedules.
2. Editorial Curation & Verification Standards
Every pandal entry, GPS parking hub, and metro transfer route undergoes verification before publishing. We work in tandem with local neighborhood volunteers and monitor official press releases from Kolkata Traffic Police and Metro Railway authorities.
